CES instances can access data in a GPFS file system through file storage mounts. You can mount a file system to one or more instances, search for mount paths in batches, unmount file systems, or manage file storage clients.

Mount a File System

Pre-Mount Confirmation

  • The GPFS file system is in normal status and is in the same region as the instance.
  • The target local mount path does not conflict with existing mounts on the instance.

Mounting Procedure

  1. Log in to the GPU Cloud console and go to the Instance page.
  2. On the GPU Instance or CPU Instance tab, select the instance on which you want to mount the file system.
    • Single mount: In the Actions column of the instance, click More Actions, and select Mount File System.
    • Batch mount: After selecting multiple instances, click Mount File System in the Actions area at the bottom.
  3. Configure the mount parameters.
  4. Click OK, and then view the mount result.
If mounting is not complete, check the file system status, region, and mount path.

Unmount a File System

Pre-Unmount Confirmation

  • Tasks on the instance no longer read from or write to the associated mount directories.
  • The mount paths to be unmounted have been confirmed.
  • Batch unmounting affects multiple instances. Confirm the scope of instances before proceeding.

Unmount Steps

  1. Go to the Instance page.
  2. On the GPU Instance or CPU Instance tab, select one or more instances from which you want to unmount the file system.
  3. In the Actions section at the bottom, click More Actions, and select Unmount.
  4. Enter the mount path to unmount, and complete the subsequent steps.
If unmounting is not complete, check the instance status, mount path, and task usage.

Find Mount path on CES

Search Steps

  1. Go to the Instance page.
  2. On the GPU Instance or CPU Instance tab, select multiple instances.
  3. In the bottom Actions area, click More Actions, and select Find Mount path on CES.
  4. View the file system mount path on CES for the selected instance.

Manage Clients

Managing clients may affect the instance’s ability to access the file system. Confirm the scope of impact before proceeding.

  3. In the Actions area at the bottom, click More Actions, and select Manage Client.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete client management actions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I see a storage action entry?

Available actions depend on the instance status and file system mount status. If you do not see the target action, first confirm that the instance supports the action and that the file system is mounted.
