# Push and Pull Helm Charts

> Package the Helm Chart and push it to the image registry for other environments to pull by version.

After storing a Helm Chart in the image registry, you can distribute Chart versions using the same project path. Helm Charts are stored as OCI artifacts, and repository paths starting with `oci://` must be used when pushing and pulling them.

## Confirmation Before Proceeding

* A Registry project already exists in the target region, and the current account has read and write permissions for the project.
* Helm with OCI registry support is installed in the environment where the commands are executed, and the Chart directory or `.tgz` package to be packaged is ready.

## Get push and pull commands

* Get reference commands for login, push, and pull.

  On the **Registry** page, click **Push & Pull**, then open the **Helm** tab.
* Obtain the push command for a project.

  Go to the details page of the target project. In the left navigation pane, click **Registry**, and then click **Get Push Command**.
* Obtain the pull command for a Chart

  1. Go to the target project details page and click **Registry** in the left navigation pane.
  2. Locate the target Chart and click its name.
  3. In the **Actions** column of the artifact list, click **Copy Pull Command**.

## Log In to the Registry

1. Log in to the [GPU Cloud console](https://console.scitix.ai/gpu-cloud/home).
2. Go to **STORAGE > Registry** and select the target region.
3. Click **Push & Pull**.
4. On the **Helm** tab, obtain the registry address and login instructions for the region.
5. Log in to the registry in the environment where you perform Helm operations:

   ```bash theme={null}
   helm registry login <REGISTRY_ENDPOINT> --username <USERNAME>
   ```

   * Replace `<REGISTRY_ENDPOINT>` with the registry endpoint for the current region, for example, `registry-ap-southeast.scitix.ai`. The Helm login command uses only the registry endpoint, without `oci://` or the project path.
   * Replace `<USERNAME>` with the Registry Logon Username in the format `<username>@<tenant_name>`.
   * Enter the corresponding credentials as prompted. The default password is the platform logon password. Do not write the password directly in commands or public logs.

## Push a Chart

Log in to the registry, package the Chart directory into a `.tgz` file, and push it to the target project.

```bash theme={null}
helm package <CHART_PATH>
helm push ./<CHART>-<VERSION>.tgz oci://<REGISTRY_ENDPOINT>/<PROJECT>
```

* `<CHART_PATH>`: Chart directory.
* `<CHART>`: Chart name.
* `<VERSION>`: Chart version.
* `<REGISTRY_ENDPOINT>`: registry endpoint.
* `<PROJECT>`: target project.

Helm reads the name and version from the Chart package. The push target is the project path; do not append the Chart name or version to the end. If you already have a compliant `.tgz` package, you can skip `helm package` and run `helm push` directly.

Example:

```bash theme={null}
helm package ./mychart
helm push ./mychart-1.0.0.tgz oci://registry-ap-southeast.scitix.ai/project-test
```

After the push is complete, go to the relevant project on the **Projects** tab in the target region, then confirm that the Chart can be found in **Registry**.

## Pull a Chart

Log in to the registry in the environment where you need to use the chart, then pull a specific version using the full OCI chart path:

```bash theme={null}
helm pull oci://<REGISTRY_ENDPOINT>/<PROJECT>/<CHART> --version <VERSION>
```

For example:

```bash theme={null}
helm pull oci://registry-ap-southeast.scitix.ai/project-test/mychart --version 1.0.0
```

Ensure that the `.tgz` file corresponding to the specified version has been obtained locally. If the pull fails, first verify the region, project path, Chart name and version, and whether the credentials used in the current environment can access the project.
