# Manage NAT Rules

> Learn how to create, update, and delete NAT rules to map public IP access to private IP addresses.

NAT rules map access to a public IP address to an instance's private IP address. When creating a NAT rule, select the public IP address, VPC, and private IP address of the target instance. This is equivalent to binding the NAT Gateway to that instance. You can create Port Mapping rules or map the entire public IP address to an instance's private IP address.

## Create NAT Rules

1. Log in to the [GPU Cloud console](https://console.scitix.ai/gpu-cloud/home) and go to **CLOUD NETWORKS > NAT Gateway**.

2. In the upper-right corner, select the target region.

3. Click **Create NAT Rule**.

4. Configure basic information.

   | Parameter | Description |
   | - | - |
   | **Public IP** | Select the public IP used to receive public access. If no public IP is available, create an EIP first. |
   | **VPC** | Select the VPC to which the NAT rule belongs. If no VPC is available, Create VPC first. |
   | **Private IP** | Select the private IP address of the target instance. If no instance is available, create an instance first. After the NAT rule is created, access to the public IP is forwarded to the instance based on the mapping. |

5. Select the mapping method.

   | Mapping Method | Description | Configuration Required |
   | - | - | - |
   | **Port Mapping** | Maps a specific port on the public IP to the corresponding port on the instance's private IP for targeted access. | **Public Port**, **Private Port**, **Protocol** |
   | **Full Port Mapping** | Maps the entire public IP to an instance's private IP, forwarding all traffic without changing ports. | No port configuration required |

6. Click **OK**.

After creation, the NAT rule is displayed in the list.

## Update NAT Rules

You can update the private IP address of the instance bound to the NAT rule and the specific port number used for Port Mapping, but you cannot modify the mapping method of the NAT rule.

1. In the NAT rule list, find the target rule and click **Edit**.

2. Modify the private IP address of the associated instance as needed.

If you are currently using **Port Mapping**, you can also modify the private port.

3. Click **Confirm**.

After the update is complete, confirm that the NAT rule displays the new instance private IP address or port configuration.

The mapping mode of a NAT rule cannot be changed after creation. To switch between **Port Mapping** and **Full Port Mapping**, delete the original NAT rule and create a new one.

## Delete NAT Rule

If a NAT rule is no longer needed, you can delete it.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Deleting a NAT rule stops public-to-private network forwarding for that rule. Before deleting it, ensure that related public network access no longer needs to be forwarded to the target instance through this rule.

1. In the NAT rule list, locate the target rule and click **Delete**.

2. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm deletion.
