# Manage users

> Add users, change roles, reset passwords, and enable or delete accounts as an organization administrator.

Organization administrators can add users and manage their roles, passwords, and account status.

## Prerequisites

Before adding or managing a user:

* Confirm that your account has the **Org Admin** role and can access the **User Management** page.
* Verify the tenant you are signed in to and the user you intend to add or manage.

Only organization administrators can access the **User Management** page. Members can maintain only their own accounts.

## Add a user

Adding a user creates a login account within the current tenant, not a child account under the administrator's personal account.

1. Sign in to the console and open the account menu in the upper-right corner.

2. Open **User Management**.

3. Select **Add User**.

4. Enter the user information and set the account options.

   | Field or option | Description |
   | - | - |
   | **Username** | The name the user uses to sign in and that identifies them in the user list. |
   | **Password** | The user's initial login password. |
   | **Email** | The user's email address. |
   | **Org Admin** | Select this option to grant the organization administrator role. Leave it unselected to create a member. |
   | **Enabled** | Select this option to enable sign-in. Leave it unselected to create a disabled account. |

5. Review the information and submit the form. If validation fails, correct the indicated fields and submit again.

6. Find the new user in the list and verify their account information.

7. Share the login information securely with the user. If the account is enabled, ask them to confirm that they can sign in to the correct tenant.

If the user needs access to Siverse resources, configure their resource permissions in Siverse separately.

## Manage existing users

On the **User Management** page, use the **Status**, **Role**, or **Username** filters and select **Search** to find a user. From the user list, you can view account details, change roles, update account status, reset passwords, or delete users.

The **Role** column shows organization administrators as **Org Admin** and other users as **Member**. Select **Details** to view a user's account information.

### Change a user's role

> [!WARNING]
>
> Roles determine access to administrator pages, including **User Management**. Before changing a role, ensure that at least one organization administrator remains able to manage users.

1. Find the target user and select **Edit**.
2. In the dialog, verify the username and select **Org Admin** or **Member** in **Role**.
3. Confirm the change, then check the user's role in the list.

### Reset a user's password

Use this operation when a user forgets their password or needs an administrator to set a new one. Unlike changing your own password, an administrator reset requires only the user's new password, not their current password.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Resetting a password affects the user's sign-in. Verify the target account and agree on the change with the user before submitting it.

1. Find the target user and select **Change Password**.
2. Verify the username and enter a new password.
3. Confirm the change and check the result shown on the page.
4. Share the new password securely with the user, and ask them to use it for subsequent sign-ins.

### Enable a user

Enable a disabled account when the user needs to sign in. Because this changes the account's sign-in status, verify the target account before confirming.

1. Find the target user and select **Enable**.
2. Verify the username in the dialog and confirm the action.
3. Return to the list and check that **Status** shows **Enabled**.

### Delete a user

> [!WARNING]
>
> Deleting a user affects that account's ability to sign in. Confirm that the account no longer needs access before deleting it.

1. Find the target user and select **Delete**.
2. Verify the username in the dialog and confirm deletion.
3. Return to the list and check that the user has been removed.

## Verify the results

After adding a user, changing a role, or updating an account, check that:

* The user can sign in to the current tenant as expected.
* The user's role matches the intended permissions.
